2K21 GAMEPLAY RULE CHANGES
-- 1ST EDITION --
***DISCLAIMER*** PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF 2K22 that some of the New/Revised Tag Rules listed below are OUTDATED and NO LONGER IN EFFECT -- see 2K22 Gameplay Changes post for those Updated Rules, or refer to the always up-to-date and current gameplay rules in effect on the PWG League Rules postOPEN CHALLENGES
Open challenges will now be limited per cycle.. From now on only ONE weekly show open challenge will be allowed, per HALF GAME cycle. PPV open challenged on the other hand will only be allowed ONCE per FULL GAME CYCLE. Any and all last-minute open challenges issued on the go-home or actual show will automatically be put on the pre-show. Lastly, a kayfabe open challenge to start a multi-week long feud will NOT count towards the previous limits stated. All limits above are on a per MEMBER basis (not character)
NEW / REVISED TAG MATCH RULES (outdated)
Firstly and most importantly there are
NO MORE ring-ins allowed! From now on - no matter how big the team - ring-ins or breakups will not be allowed.
To keep things as fair and as enjoyable as possible,
when an opponent tags their partner and you are STANDING, both legal superstars must back up into their corner to ensure a clean entry before resuming the match. Also,
the first attack attempted CANNOT be a Special Move following a clean entry per the Fair Play Policy on Ring-Ins.
Along with this,
the illegal partner is NO longer allowed to attack the legal opponents AFTER they REVERSE a corner turnbuckle grapple/strike. This is to prevent near-guaranteed situations of either allowing opponents to tag out or waste a reversal stock trying to reverse only to get attacked by illegal opponent.
Expanding on the previously introduced idea of player agreements, if you aren't a fan of apron punches it is most certainly allowed that you talk to your opponents pre-match to either limit or agree to not attempt any in the match. However, with the set rules being that unlimited apron punches are allowed, if your opponent disagrees then there's nothing more to do but try to match the frequency of their attempts.
